  Mr Bruce Candy
The metal detection technology and products designed by Bruce Candy over the past 25 years have won him recognition as the leading scientist worldwide in his field. His work has positioned Minelab Electronics Pty Ltd and Australia as world leaders in the provision of high-performance, affordable and practical hand-held metal detectors for the detection of landmines, gold nuggets and general coin, treasure and relic items.

  Dr John Clout
Dr John Clout is a renowned geometallurgical expert on iron ores, especially their specific end-use potential. He is widely respected as a leading authority on Australian iron ore with a particularly detailed understanding of the relationship of the fundamental properties of Australian iron ores to their downstream processing performance.
  Professor Antony Burgess, Professor Ashley Dunn and Dr Nicholas Gough
Antony Burgess, Ashley Dunn and Nicholas Gough were the scientists who first purified and cloned GM-CSF, patented it and continued developing the biology of GM-CSF to guide current and future clinical uses of this agent.
 
Dr John Ness
For a period of more than 30 years, Dr John Ness has been, and still is, an acknowledged leader in the microwave telecommunications field in Australia. He has established home-grown, successful and sustainable microwave companies in Australia with considerable national and international commercial success, and has had a major influence in the establishment of a group of other microwave companies in Brisbane.
  Lifetime Achievement Award
Roy Woodall was directly involved in an amazing number of the most important mineral discoveries in Australia during his career as a geologist with Western Mining Corporation between 1953 and 1995. Three of these discoveries were entirely new types of ore deposits, which reflected his dedication to applying the best possible science to mineral exploration.

Named on behalf of renowned leader and innovator Sir Ian Clunies Ross, the ATSE Clunies Ross Foundation was established to continue his vision. Each year the ATSE Clunies Ross Awards highlight distinguished people involved in the commercialisation of Australian technological science and engineering.

The 2013 Awards will be held on 15 May 2013 in Melbourne.
