ATSE Fellows are some of the most influential names in technological sciences and engineering. They’re an important group of people – one that’s been responsible for a number of key technological advancements over the past 40 years.
ATSE has some 19 International Fellows drawn from the Asia-Pacific, Europe and the United States. These International Fellows allow ATSE to utilise its extensive international networks and gather intelligence on a wide range of issues including new thinking in technology and innovation that can be utilised for Australian benefit.
Our Academy Fellows are drawn from the areas of applied physical science and technology, applied biological science and technology, engineering and management, and development and leadership. This includes the diverse fields of:
Our Fellowship is made up of the following sectors:
ATSE has a strong gender equity program aiming to increase the participation of women in all of ATSE's operations and in the technological sciences and engineering in Australia.

The membership process is based on nomination, not application. Admission as a Fellow of the Academy requires a proposal for election which is signed by at least two ATSE Fellows, (one as proposer and one as seconder), and also by up to three supporters who preferably but not necessarily, are Fellows.
Our network of Forums and Groups engage our Fellows in debate and discussion around some of the world's most important, technology-led issues. They allow the Academy to draw on the expertise of its Fellows and external experts to advise government, industry and the community on how technology can improve the quality of life of all Australians.
The successful operation and implementation of the ATSE's international program would not be possible without the significant contribution of the ATSE Fellowship through:
ATSE also has substantial links to key research institutions, industries, government agencies and other S&T-related organisations within the scientific community, largely through its Fellowship and their colleagues. This allows ATSE to utilise a broad network connecting world-leading technological science and engineering contacts to ensure that all activities are strategic and lead to enhanced research outcomes of greater competitive edge and an investment in fast-tracking innovation.
