Tony Wong wins IWA Global Water Award
Professor Tony Wong FTSE will receive the International Water Association’s prestigious Global Water Award later this month, recognising his influential work and research in water sensitive urban design.
For more than 30 years, Professor Wong has devoted his career to the important field of urban water across sectors and disciplines. He has led many award-winning urban design projects in Australia and overseas, and was formerly the Chief Executive and Director of Monash University’s Centre for Water Sensitive Cities.
Currently, Professor Wong is the CEO of CRC for Water Sensitive Cities, an Australian research centre that brings together many disciplines and experts to help revolutionise urban water management in Australia and overseas.
“I am very honoured to have worked with my colleagues in helping define the organising framework and solution space to address some of today’s most urgent global water challenges,” Professor Wong said.
The IWA Global Water award will be presented in Tokyo, Japan, on 15 September.
