Energy storage may play a transformative role in Australia’s transition to a low-carbon economy over the coming decade and beyond.
The Australian Council of Learned Academies (ACOLA) is running a research project Energy Storage: Opportunities and Challenges of Deployment in Australia. For this project, ATSE has undertaken extensive research and consulted with over 50 key stakeholder organisations in the energy storage ecosystem (including representatives from industry, business, research, government, and not-for-profit organisations). The observations in this submission have arisen from this research and from ATSE’s ongoing policy work and advocacy for an affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy system.
