Dr Gayan Benedict
Chief Technology Officer, Salesforce, A/NZ
Dr Gayan Benedict is CTO of Salesforce Australia and New Zealand where he leads Salesforce’s regional customer advisory function for architecture and technology transformation.
Prior to joining Salesforce Gayan was the CIO of the Reserve Bank of Australia where he oversaw the Bank’s rollout of the transformative national New Payments Platform, federal government core bank modernisation, launching the RBA’s Innovation Lab, uplifting cyber-security operations, refreshing Australia’s next-generation polymer banknotes. Prior to the RBA, Gayan was the head of strategy and architecture at Westpac and architecture director for Oracle Asia Pacific.
Gayan is an industry research fellow at the UTS Faculty of Engineering and IT and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has a doctorate in financial sector blockchain regulation from UTS and honours degrees in Commerce and Law from the University of Queensland.
