Australia is at a crossroads in the development of a strong digital technology economy. Emerging digital technologies include artificial intelligence (AI), the internet of things (IoT), augmented and virtual reality,blockchain and 5G.
The next wave of emerging digital technologies, such as autonomous vehicles,smart micro-grids, 6G and quantum computing, will further disrupt and transform many sectors. Embracing the opportunities that this technology can deliver will need investment in digital technology-based research, industry innovation and a skilled workforce.
