ATSE Congratulates appointment of ARC CEO

ATSE congratulates Judi Zielke PSM for her appointment as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Australian Research Council (ARC).

Kylie Walker, CEO of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE) said:

“Ms Zielke’s appointment comes at a critical juncture for the ARC during a period of change and renewal.

“Ms Zielke has been acting CEO since February and has already demonstrated a willingness to engage, listen and collaborate with the STEM and broader research sector.

“The Academy of Technology and Engineering looks forward to closely collaborating with Ms Zielke as the ARC continues its critical work of backing fundamental research, and the translation of research into economic benefits for all Australians.”

Last week, the ARC Advisory Committee was also established and included three ATSE Fellows:

  • Professor Chris Moran FTSE, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Curtin University (Chair)
  • Professor Michelle Simmons AO FTSE, Director, ARC Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology, The University of New South Wales
  • Professor Calum Drummond AO FTSE, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Innovation and Vice-President, RMIT University

“ATSE looks forward to our continued engagement with the ARC and other stakeholders to ensure the continuing strength of research in Australia,” Ms Walker said.
