Science and technology are collaborative enterprises that by their very nature involve building on and integrating the work that has gone before.
As a small nation, Australia relies on international collaboration to advance its research and development. Australian research and industry enjoy many fruitful and productive collaborative relationships and projects with many nations – these endeavours benefit all nations involved, and the collective progression of scientific and technological enterprise.
To single out individual nations is inappropriate.
Australia as a nation benefits from the free movement of people, ideas, and knowledge: this is particularly necessary at this time of confusion and lack of trust in scientific evidence and its application.
