ATSE CEO named Flinders University Professorial Fellow

ATSE CEO Professor Kylie Walker AM has been appointed Professorial Fellow by Flinders University.

ATSE warmly congratulates CEO Professor Kylie Walker AM, who today has been appointed Professorial Fellow by Flinders University.

This appointment follows from Kylie’s decades of experience in science, technology and engineering advocacy, her strong track record of leadership across the STEM sector, and her tireless support for increased diversity and participation in STEM from under-represented cohorts.

To solve the complex problems of the future, we need a culture of innovation, bold thinking, and strong research collaboration.

Kylie said it was an honour to be appointed a Professorial Fellow.

“To solve the complex problems of the future, we need a culture of innovation, bold thinking, and strong research collaboration,” she said.

“I’m looking forward to working with the Flinders community, and the broader STEM sector, to work through new approaches to building a resilient and thriving future and creating a more innovative Australia with STEM skills at its heart.”

This appointment forms part of Kylie’s broader work providing mentoring and guidance to emerging STEM leaders as well as bringing together innovators, students, teachers, researchers, industrial leaders and the broader community.

The announcement follows Kylie’s appointment as a Member of the Order of Australia last week, for service to science communication and advocacy.
