Allan Wightley is a leader of technology development in the Australian mining industry, and is a significant contributor to Australian exports. He brings a strong practical approach to his leadership which, with the overseas merger of a famous Australian manufacturer Warman International Ltd with Weir Pie of the UK, he applies to a global group Weir Minerals Division (WMD). He has responsibility for all engineering, product development, and the intellectual property portfolio of the Division throughout the world operations from a Sydney base. The world leadership of the slurry pump technology which underpins the business originated in Australia and is now applied in 125 countries.
