Professor Tieu has made major impact to industry through his collaborative linkages. Having spent a considerable and successful time in industry, he turned to academia to carry out advanced research and development on rolling technology and tribology that has proved to be extremely useful and beneficial to a wide cross section of industry in Australia and overseas. He has applied successfully both new and existing science and technology to challenging industrial projects. He has published widely basic and applied science of excellent quality and innovation. He is widely recognised by his peers in academia, industry in Australia and internationally.
