Gregson presents a unique profile in Australian agriculture. His dsitinguished career as an academic researcher in chemistry provided a thorough knowledge of the research process, which he combined with his knowledge of practical agriculture through his career as a producer of cereal grains. Gregson has used these two areas of knowledge and experience to great effect for the benefit of Australian agriculture through his Board membership of CSIRO, GRDC and the Molecular Plant Breeding CRC and membership of research committees of cereal breeding companies, such as SGB. His recognised contributions in Australia have led him to Board membership of CIMMYT (Mexico).
