As an acomplished author and renown expert on Alzheimer's disease, Professor Bush has made major contributions over the last 20 years to our understanding of the role of metal-mediated oxidative stress in ageing and disease pathogenisis, and is leading the research into developing novel therapeutic strategies to deal with a number of debilitating conditions caused by oxidative stress (including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and psychosis). With his reputation in the scientific community as one of Australia's leading neuroscience translational researchers, Prof. Bush has cultivated commercial opportunities arising from his discoveries, obtaining numerous international patents and creating three Australian biotechnology companies.
