An extensive business career extending over 60 years, as a CEO, Chairman, or Director of large companies, both domestic and international, covering banking, insurance, finance, housing, construction, information technology, property development, hospitality and gaming. Past member of the Business Council of Australia. Former Director of Economic Statistics for the Australian Government. In 1996 the Peoples Republic of China honoured him by electing him a Fellow of the Chinese Institute of Electronics. Extensive career in information technology including World President of the International Federation for Information Processing. Former Dean of the School of Business and Professor of Leadership at Bond University. Past Federal President of the Liberal Party of Australia.

Biography at time of election

Professor Ashley Goldsworthy AO, OBE has contributed significantly to information technology in Australia, principally through the Australian Computer Society, an organisation he has served with distinction in many capacities since 1966.

He has published widely on computing applications and technological change.
After a successful career in business, in the insurance and building industries, he became Professor and Dean of Business at Bond University.

His other activities have included the Federal Presidency of the Liberal Party of Australia, Membership of ASTEC and Membership of the Business Council of Australia, including Chairmanship of its Education and Training Committee.
