Barry Brady has made a significant contribution to mining technology, particularly in the area of rock mechanics, both internationally and in Australia. He has published widely in the academic literature and has ptovided important consultancy and advisory services to corporations and government agencies in Australia, Canada, Chile, UK, USA, South Africa and Sweden. He has held senior academic and industrial R&D posts in Australia and the US and participated in the formation of a successful major consulting company. He has provided outstanding leadership in engineering education as a senior academic manager and as President of the Australian Council of Engineering Deans.
