Brian Croser has been significant and influential in the Australian wine industry for over 20 years. He is well-known internationally and nationally for his innovations in wine growing and production technology. More recently, Brian led the industry in a major strategic planning exercise which set benchmarks and production targets for 25 years hence. Although only a few years into that plan, the industry has already exceeded its current export targets by a considerable margin. Brian was also involved in establishing one of the major wine educational facilities in Australia as the foundation head of oenology at Charles Sturt University. He is deeply involved in wine education research at Adelaide University where he is deputy Chancellor of the University.
