Charles Allen has become a popular and well known member of the industrial scene in the 16 years he has been in Australia. He is Chairman oft he North-West Shelf Project Committee he has co-ordinated representatives of several major companies - Shell, BHP, BP, SO California and later a consortium of Mitsui & Mitsubishi (MIMI). The great success of the huge gas/condensate complex at Karratha is largely due to his enthusiasm and ability.

Charles Allen has also been active in many other sections of corporate business and plays a major role in the Business Council of Australia and the Australia/Japan Business Co-operative Committee.

Mr Allen's professional qualifications, his career and his leadership of one of Australia's largest technological enterprises, indeed the largest one site investment in Australia, make him one of Australia's most distinguished technology leaders.
