Management of basic and applied research in a variety of consumer and industrial food products. Particular contribution to the development of gelatine technology in Australia. Significant contribution to research management capabilities in food industry with emphasis upon technical strategic planning, commercialisation of research, and collaborative research.
Establishment of collaboration between food industry and public sector research, e.g. CSIRO, Universities. Development of research management through leadership in Australian Industrial Research Group. Appointment to Biotechnology Committee, IR & D Board and to Australian Research Council. Leadership in scientific and regulatory affairs and food safety policy, through senior positions with industrial and government organisations over twenty years in Australia and overseas. Achievements acknowledged by receipt of 1992 AIFST(Australian Institute of Food Science and technology) Award of Merit. Representation of Australia at FAO/WHO meetings internationally.
