Laureate Professor Colin Masters, M.D., Ph.D., is one of Australia's leading Neuroscientists and has received numerous International awards for his discovery of the key molecular processes responsible for Alzheimer's disease. Importantly, Colin has driven the successful commercialization of Neuro-active pharmaceuticals, having co-founded one of Australia's leading start-up Biotechnology companies, Prana Biotechnology Limited (NASDAQ: PRAN, ASX: PBT).

In 2007, Colin's appointment as Executive Director of the Mental Health Research Institute of Victoria demonstrates his continuing commitment to Australian Neuroscience discoveries. Colin continues his Professorial appointment at the University of Melbourne, and serves as Chief Scientific Advisor to Neurosciences Australia, the Centre for Neurosciences and the Department of Pathology.
