Abramson has made significant and sustained contributions to the discipline of supercomputing. His work underpins real world software tools and techniques, and has wide application outside the computing discipline. His software systems are used internationally and are well known in the community. He has made significant contributions through traditional academic platforms (such as publication),and has also formed two startup companies to commercialize research outcomes.Abramson has been an active member of the research community, serving on national and international advisory committees, conference organization and program committees, editorial boards and working parties.
