Professor David de Kretser is one of Australia's most highly regarded clinical andrologists. He is also an immensely distinguished biomedical researcher in the field of human reproduction. Throughout his professional career, Professor de Kretser has combined these two attributes in a creative and highly original manner to provide important scientific and technological advances relevant to the control and treatment of disorders of the human reproductive system. In this field he has shown outstanding leadership at the national and international level with much of his work directly finding application. In particular, this work has formed the basis of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for the treatment of diseases associated with male infertility.
