Mr Klingberg spent sixteen years designing and managing construction projects in the mining industry. These incorporated new processing technologies and construction management systems.

In the seventeen years as managing director of Kinhill he transformed the company, via international joint ventures, from a civil engineering to a multi-discipline operation. It is a successful engineering company employing 2500 personnel, generating $250 million per year in Australia and SE Asia.

He retired in 1998, but maintains interest in engineering education and management. He serves on committee in government, professional and community service. He is now Chancellor of the University of South Australia.
