Sir Eric Neal graduated in electrical and mechanical engineering at the South Australian School of Mines in 1948 and became Chief Executive of Boral Ltd. in 1973, retiring as Managing Director in June, 1987.
He has notably demonstrated achievement in the application of technological sciences to the benefit of the community for the last 14 years through his leadership of an innovative and successful technological enterprise of considerable value to Australia.
Sir Eric is held in high regard as a senior Australian industrialist and as one who has made many contributions in the service of the public and the community.
