Biography at time of election

Professor Goldys, has pioneered a unique noninvasive label-free fluorescence characterisation for use as a tool for biology and health diagnostics. Her innovative research, recognised in 2016 with a Eureka prize, uses colour to provide a collective metabolic diagnostic 'fingerprint' for a variety of diseases, including cancer. She has taken an effective role establishing and leading research networks to foster interdisciplinary research and to develop linkages between industry and academia demonstrating outstanding research leadership in optical characterisation and its applications to materials, devices and biochemical and medical sensing.
