Glen Kile has effectively led forest research in Australia for almost a decade, after a successful career as a research scientist in forest pathology and a broader position as program manager that culminated in him having a key role in conceiving, negotiating for and establishing the CRC for Temperate Hardwood Forestry in the first round of the CRC scheme. He has encouraged government policy departments to make fuller use of scientific expertise in developing and implementing national strategies for the forest and forest products industries. He has enhanced collaboration with other research providers and end users, and with counterparts in other countries in the region.
