Graeme Robertson provided intellectual and management leadership through revitalised research and information transfer activities during the redevelopment of the Ord River Scheme, following the collapse of the cotton industry. He was subsequently charged with refocussing the WA Soil Conservation Service. He did this with great personal commitment; rewriting the legislation with a focus on community involvement which became a National model through the Landcare movement. As Chairman he led the L WRRDC through its development of an
integrated R&D program in land water and vegetation management. Since 1994 he has led the Department through a very difficult restructuring imposed by the Government.
