Biography at time of election

Graham Johnston is Australia's leading pharmacologist specialising in the design, synthesis and development of agents acting on the brain.

He has more than 280 research publications and is one of Australia's most highly cited scientists.

He has developed new investigational agents which are marketed worldwide and has extensive contact with industry via R&D contracts.

He is President of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute and a former President of the Australasian Society of Clinical and Experimental Pharmacologists.

He is a Specialist Member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal of the Commonwealth of Australia with expertise in pharmacology and medicinal chemistry.
