Professor Helen Garnett has made major contributions to nuclear science and technology in Australia both during her position at the University of Woollongong and subsequently as at the Australian Science and Technology Organisation.

Her innovative approaches to interisciplanary R&D and to collaboration with other organisations and have considerably enhanced the programs at ANSTO.

Her standing has been recognised by her appointment to a number of national and international technical committees and organisations.
