Research, development and design of telecommunications technology and systems in Australian industry since 1973, preceded by three years full time postgraduate study. Major interests are telecommunication systems design, dimensioning and planning, systems integration, and network aspects including switching and systems management.

Detailed technical background includes digital transmission, modulation, and signal processing, with extensive experience in optical fibre systems and digital telecommunication system design. Extensive overseas travel has been undertaken, to attend technical conferences and to liaise with major US and European based suppliers of communications equipment and systems.

Currently Managing Director of the Australian subsidiary of a US based manufacturer of small capacity digital microwave radio systems, responsible for managing a R&D program in Australia, and for providing high level technical support in the South East Asian region. The development of an export capability for hardware, software and services, to support the global operations of the parent, is a high priority.
