Biography at time of election

John Agnew is Head, Division of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, Dean of Engineering at Adelaide University and is a Commissioner of the SA Environment Resources and Development Court.

He has a distinguished record of achievement in Australian Chemical Engineering for which he received the ICI Award of Excellence. He is internationally known for his research in coal, oil and gas reaction engineering.

He has authored 112 papers and was awarded the John A Brodie Medal for a novel waste oil process. He has been a leading contributor to the engineering profession for 30 years.
