Biography at time of election

John Baxter showed his outstanding promise early. As Dux of his school, then graduating with First Class Honours and the University Medal from the University of New South Wales where he also gained his Doctorate, he was set for a brilliant engineering career.

This was to eventuate, and continue to this day, within the iconic Bishop Technology Group. Following its founder, the late Arthur Bishop, John Baxter has become the leading innovative mind in an extraordinarily successful Australian company. With notable engineering achievements behind him he is already taking the company into a far wider range of emerging technologies than those related to the automobile industry alone.
