Dr. Craske is Head, Central Research Laboratories, which comprises highly qualified staff and excellent equipment, and is part of the holding company, Unilever Australia Pty.Ltd., which controls many companies manufacturing soaps and detergents; edible oils; general foodstuffs; ice cream; toilet preparations; general chemicals; printing and packaging. Each company has its own control laboratory, but the Central Research Laboratories are concerned with longer-range problems of a chemical, physical and biological nature and with the study of new techniques and products.

Dr.Craske is also responsible for the transfer of new research developed
in the company's European laboratories and for the maintenance of a Technical Information Department servicing all constituent companies.

Dr.Craske is held in very high regard by his peers in the soap, detergent and food industries.
