Professor Lin Ye FTSE Chair Professor He/him
Currently a Chair Professor at the School of System Design and Intelligent Manufacturing of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) from 2022, before then a tenured full professor at the School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering and the Director of Centre for Advanced Materials Technology of The University of Sydney, where he joined in July 1992, after working as the Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at the Institute for Composite Materials (IVW GmbH) 1990-1992 of the University of Kaiserslautern. He was elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE) in 2005.

Biography at time of election

Professor Ye is Australia's leading research in composites, smart materials and structures, and applied mechanics. He has successfully applied this expertise, through regular collaborations with industries, to develop innovative materials and new technologies for different engineering applications. He has made major contributions in international archive journals. His research excellence has been recognised in his prestigous AvH Bessel Award. His capacity for research and intelelctual leadership has been reflected by his appointment to executive positions at the University of Sydney and other research organisations. His achievments in research, industrial applications, and training represent a significant contribution to the engineering profession in Australia.
