Cole has made outstanding contributions through innovative applied research and development in the field of intruder detection and, more particularly, in the creation of a unique smoke detection apparatus.

These achievements have been allied with management skills which have established Integrated Electronic Industries (I.E.I. (Australia) Pty. Ltd.) as a world wide exporter of smoke detection apparatus, now operating with subsidiary companies in Europe, North America and New Zealand.

Cole and his company have been recognised through a number of export and other awards.
