Michael Farrell is an engineer-turned-executive who since 2013 has served as the CEO of Resmed, an Australian-founded medtech powerhouse in sleep health, breathing health and digital health technology delivered into the home. Under his leadership, Resmed has grown from a sleep apnoea device manufacturer into a connected healthcare technology leader, serving tens of millions of patients worldwide. Farrell guided this digital health transformation, embedding connectivity into devices and building the world’s largest repositories of respiratory health data. These innovations have improved patient outcomes while reducing overall healthcare system costs. He has also overseen significant global growth, strategic acquisitions and growing investments in R&D, strengthening Australia’s reputation for high-impact medical technology innovation. Farrell also serves on the boards of the Advanced Medical Device Association (AdvaMed) and Zimmer BioMet, a world-leading provider of implantable musculoskeletal medical devices.
