Biography at time of election

Michael Good has developed the science and technology that underpin two novel vaccine candidates, for malaria and group A streptococcus. The candidates are entering clinical trials. He has provided high level leadership for Australian science through his roles as Director of The Queensland Institute of Medical Research, President of the Association of Australian Medical Research Institutes, Chairmanship of NHMRC, and membership of the Prime Minister?s Science Engineering and Innovation Council and the Queensland Smart State Council. His contributions have been recognised by national and international awards, including the 2009 CSIRO Eureka Prise for Leadership in Science.
