Professor Micheal Keniger is preeminent among Australian architects in the area of leadership, management and advocacy for the quality of the built environment. This degree of involvement is unusual for an academic, in particular one who has risen to the senior position of Executive Dean through his academic achievements. Micheal Keniger's influence on policy spans major urban projects, including the National Museum, the Sydney Olympic Design Review Panel and the master plan for Brisbane's Southabank Development. A measure of his stature is his position of Queensland Government Architect. Created by the Premier, this inaugural position is being copied by other states.
