Professor Hearn has contributed significantly to the international development of bio-processing technologies, including biochemical analysis, protein technology and bioseparation technology.

His developments have resulted in several patents and are the basis for more than 200 products now commercially available.

He is the author of over 200 papers and several books and serves on the Editorial Boards of 6 international journals.

Over the past decade he has been invited to present more than 50 lectures at major international conferences and symposia and his work has been recognised with several international awards and prizes.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute.
