Biography at time of election

Dr Mayo is a renowned evolutionary geneticist who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and leadership in technological science and his innovative management leadership of government and non-government research institutions. Dr Mayo's research has contributed to new knowledge through his research skills in genetics and statistics specifically in the 1) elucidation of the basis of quantitative inheritance in plants, animal and humans; 2) elucidation of evolutionary dynamics of outbreeding mechanisms in plants; and 3) improvement of design and analysis of experimental methods to detect partition and measure genetic influences on quantitative traits.
