Biography at time of election
Dr. Coldrey has demonstrated excellent research leadership, and an ability to consistently convert good research ideas into cost saving plant modifications and commercially viable new products.
At Sola, new products originating from his laboratories account for more than 20% of Sola's current annual worldwide sales of $500 million and have won 6 awards of excellence from the Optical Laboratories Association of America.
He has made major contributions to the development of PVC suspension process technology that have resulted in savings to ICI Australia of more than $2 million per year since 1980.
During his leadership the Australian research group was the pre-eminent PVC laboratory for the world-wide ICI group.
Coldrey has contributed significantly to the basic science and the development of design procedures for chemical reactor design for rapid reactions.
