Dr Shaw has demonstrated outstanding leadership specifically in the design and successful development of a low energy aluminium cell.
He has demonstrated similar qualities of leadership in bringing together Government, University and Industrial research groups and
focusing these groups on problems of national importance. The success of these collaborations is a direct result of the high technical standing that Dr Shaw enjoys with the research establishments in Australia and Overseas.
The direction of Comalco's current research and development is directly attributable to Dr Shaw's role as Chief Scientist at Comalco.
