Professor Robert F Warner is recognised nationally and internationally as Australia's leading academic authority on concrete building structures. His co-authored text book, Prestressed Concrete, was instrumental to the acceptance in Australia of partial prestressing and to fundamental changes in the Australian design standards to permit this important form of construction. concrete design in Australia and is widely used in design offices and in teaching. His research into collapse behaviour of concrete structures provides the basis for current code design requirements for ductility.
