Professor Robin Grimes FREng is an acclaimed authority in the area of materials for energy applications, especially nuclear. His pioneering work on nuclear fuel performance overturned scientific thinking about fission product behaviour and has had a major impact on the nuclear energy sector both in the UK and internationally.

A true leader in his field, he not only led the UK delegation to the International Atomic Energy Agency 58th General Conference, he currently serves as Chief Scientific Adviser to the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
