Dr Cameron is an internationally recognised expert and adviser on nuclear energy and its role in developing national low carbon energy mixes. He was a senior leader in scientific research in the UK and Australia, including providing outstanding leadership of a politically sensitive and very public project to construct and license Australia's current research reactor. He worked for the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna on nuclear security before joining the OECD as head of nuclear development, working with 28 countries on energy policy. Forming his own company, he acted as a senior adviser to the UK government on the current nuclear new build program and latterly with several service industries on maximising their engagement with the energy industry.

 

He has had extensive involvement with the media, has served on many boards of both mature and start-up industries and spoken widely at conferences globally.

Biography at time of election

Dr Cameron is an internationally recognised nuclear scientist and currently the leader of Australia's only nuclear science and technology organisation. He has many unique achievements here and in the UK, including providing outstanding leadership of a politically sensitive and very public project to cosntruct and license Australia's new research reactor. He has a strong media profile and makes high level contributions to government policy and international affairs. He manages Australia's nuclear engagement in the Asia-Pacific region, is on many Boards and advisory groups, including being the alternate governor of the IAEA Board and is a sought after speaker nationally and internationally.
