World leading naval architect Dr Stuart Cannon is transforming ship building and safety nationally and internationally. He is the Royal Australian Navy's trusted advisor on technology and ways to make ships and submarines better, safer and cheaper. He has deployed theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in naval architecture, offshore engineering and nautical studies to solve challenging naval architecture problems. In collaboration with the University of Tasmania, he has played a key role in STEM education. The avid scuba diver has captured the public's imagination with his investigation of naval shipwrecks.
