Professor Trupke has made outstanding contributions to the field of photovoltaics (PV) and solar cell technology through his pioneering research breakthroughs and their subsequent translation to industry. In particular, his Photoluminescence Imaging (commercialised via BT Imaging) has been revolutionary, with Photoluminescence Imaging now a standard method used in virtually all PV research labs and has been central to the significant acceleration in PV R&D we are witnessing globally.

He brings to the Academy his extensive, successful experience of knowledge translation, and associated industry development, in the area of renewable energy
