Trevor Cole, Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Sydney since 1980, has contributed to engineering education, engineering research, industry-university interaction, research management, and the promotion of design and-industry throughout the community.

Besides senior appointments within the university, he is Chairman of the R&D Board of OTC Limited, Chairman of the Australian Telecommunications and Electronics Board (ATERB), and Founding President of the Australasian Association for Engineering Education.

He is a Founding Fellow of the Australian Academy of Design, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (Australia), and is on the Board of Trustees of the Powerhouse Museum.
