Professor Page is Emeritus Professor in Civil Engineering in the School of Engineering at the University of Newcastle and an Honorary Fellow of Engineers Australia. His career at the University of Newcastle has included periods as Dean of Engineering, Pro-Vice Chancellor Engineering and Built Environment and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research). Over his career he has made an internationally recognised contribution to the fundamental and applied areas of structural masonry.

Biography at time of election

Professor Page has made outstanding contributions to the research and practice of structural masonry and the dissemination of this knowledge to industry and the profession through his active role in developing national and industry standards. His close and productive relationship with the masonry industry has ensured that this widely used material has remained a viable and competitive building product. He has demonstrated impressive leadership and management skills and has made contributions to engineering education at the tertiary level, as well as valuable liaison work in the promotion of science, engineering and technology in the school system and the wider community.
