Tony was President of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) 2021-23, and director 2015-2023 and a non-executive director of the Viridian Financial Group 2016-24. Awarded Sydney Professional Engineer of the Year in 2006, he was President, Association of Consulting Engineers of Australia 2004 – 2006 and an Executive Director of Aurecon 2000 – 2016, where he held senior positions as Managing Director Asia, Chief Executive Asia Pacific and Chief Business Development Officer. He is a Fellow of ATSE, a civil engineer, a Chartered Professional Engineer, Australia, a Fellow of Engineers Australia and a Fellow Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Tony Barry, a consulting engineer, has designed and project managed numerous large and innovative infrastructure projects. He is now Chief Operating Officer of Connell Wagner, one of Australia's largest and prestigious consulting engineering firms. His contribution during the past decade has resulted in the firm becoming a mjor force in Asia Pacific. His projects have recieved the accolades of his peers on numerous occasions and he is a recent Professional Engineer of the Year in NSW. His expertise in risk management and project delivery methods has been acknowledged internationally. He has chaired the Association of Consulting Engineers Australia (ACEA), the industry's peak body, with distinction through significant change.
