Martin Albrecht has specialised professional competence in civil engineering and management, with nearly 40 years of involvement in the construction industry in Australia and overseas.

Since 1985, he has overseen the growth of Thiess Contractors to its present position as Australia's leading construction services provider. This period with Thiess, in particular, has enabled the candidate to meet the criteria for election to Fellow, exemplified by his: (i) outstanding leadership of a company providing engineering, construction and operations services; and
(ii) outstanding leadership at the interface between technology and society in the areas of safety, environmental responsibility and enhancing communities.
